Welcome to Gesu Parish! We’re glad that you are planning to visit our beautiful historic church located within the campus of Marquette University. The church is located at 1145 West Wisconsin Avenue. The parish center is located at 1210 West Michigan Street.
Sometimes the one-way streets and multiple parking lots can be confusing. We hope the information below helps make your visit a little easier.
Parking Lot J (GPS address: 601 N 11th St)
Free parking is available immediately adjacent to the parish center and church in Lot J. The entrance to the lot is on 11th Street, south of Wisconsin Avenue. Please note that 11th Street is a one-way street. There is a guard building located at the entrance at 11th Street, which is staffed periodically. This lot is available to Gesu visitors every day of the week, for Masses, confessions, funerals, weddings, meetings, etc. See note below about security gates.
Parking Lot D (GPS address: 1231 W Wells St)
Free parking is available at this lot located at the corner of 13th Street and Wells Street. The entrance to the lot is on 13th Street, south of Wells Street. This lot is available to Gesu visitors on Saturdays and Sundays for regularly schedule Mass times. See note below about security gates.
Street Parking (12th Street; Wisconsin Avenue)
Parking is available on 12th Street, and is metered during daytime hours Monday through Saturday, but free in the evenings and on Sundays. Two-hour free parking is available on Wisconsin Avenue between 11th Street and 13th Street on Sundays only. Please read the parking signs for exact hours.
Security Gates
When a guard is present at the entrance to Lot J, please stop and inform them that you are parking in Lot J to visit Gesu. They will then open the gate for you to enter. If the guard building is unattended and the gates to Lot J are down, press the intercom button near the gate to gain access. When someone answers, explain that you are parking to visit Gesu, and they will activate the gate.
If you are trying to access Lot D for Masses on a Saturday or Sunday and the gates are down, press the intercom button near the gate to gain access. When someone answers, explain that you are parking to visit Gesu, and they will activate the gate.
PLEASE NOTE: The intercom button triggers a calling sequence that first rings to MU Parking Services. If they are unable to answer, the call is forwarded to another office, and if that office is unavailable, it is forwarded to the MU Police Department. This process can take up to two minutes. If you don’t receive an immediate response, please wait. Avoid pressing the button again, as this will restart the cycle and increase your wait time.
