As we enter into these middle weeks of Lent, the Sunday Gospels invite us to reflect more deeply on our own baptism as they help to instruct those to be baptized at Easter. Let’s continue to pray for our catechumens and all of those preparing to enter the Church.
Bringing back the Cup Last week Archbishop Listecki lifted the restriction on the distribution of the Eucharist from the common cup. He left the process of preparation and formation for the return up to each parish. We’ll set Holy Thursday as a goal for our return to the distribution of the Precious Blood at Mass. Between now and then we will need to recruit many more Eucharistic ministers. If you’re a confirmed Catholic and interested in helping, please email Paul.
Lower Church Update The floor in the lower church is finished and looks terrific. We’re working on getting the seating and the sacristy ready. Our new goal is to return to use after the Octave of Easter. We hope to bring back post-Mass coffee at that time and will need lots of volunteers to do so. If you’d be willing to help occasionally, please let us know.
Pastoral Council The Pastoral Council will meet on Monday at 6:00 p.m. in Herian Hall.
Lenten Offerings We’ll conclude the Novena of Grace this weekend. Fr. Simone will preach and preside at 5:30 on Friday and Saturday as well as at 8:00 on Sunday.
Our “Wednesday with Ignatius” series is off to a good start. We’ll take this coming Wednesday, March 15 off due to a planned power-outage on our part of campus and resume on March 22 at 6:00 p.m. in Herian Hall.
Next Sunday, March 19, at 9:00 a.m. we’ll have the next installment of our Ignatian Prayer Series. Thanks to all who are helping with that. Lenten blessings!
