“Coming soon” seems to be the theme of this week’s note.
I’m cautiously optimistic that we’ll have some good news on our hiring efforts to announce soon. Continued prayers are welcome.
I mentioned last week that Michael Davy presented the results of the campaign feasibility study to the steering committee. We’ll go over those with the finance council next week and share a summary with the parish soon.
The executive committee of the pastoral council had an energizing meeting on Wednesday where we continued to work on refining some goals to guide our path forward. I found it to be a life-giving discussion and am excited about our progress and about the goals themselves. We’ll present what we have to the whole council for approval at the February meeting and start shouting them from the rooftops (steeple-tops?) soon thereafter.
I mentioned last week that we’re working on some programming around prayer and spirituality in the coming months. More to come.
We’re still looking for folks willing to help with welcoming and hospitality, communications, and planning parish social events—key components that make up a stewardship commission.
In other news…
This week I had the privilege of riding along with a couple of our devoted St. Vincent De Paul Society members as they made some visits in the neighborhood. The Vincentians are doing great work helping our neighbors in need.
We laid to rest one of our parish’s longtime Vincentians this week as we celebrated Terry Duffey’s funeral on Wednesday. It was a lovely celebration of a life well-lived. Continued prayers for Terry and all who miss him are also welcome.
