A marriage license is required from a County Clerk’s office. both parties must register in person between 30 days and 8 days before your wedding date.
Residents of Wisconsin must apply before the County Clerk of the County in which either the bride or the groom is a resident. The license issued in that County may be used anywhere in the State of Wisconsin. (Clerks for the Greater Milwaukee area are listed below.)
Non-residents (both out-of-state) must apply in Milwaukee County for us to marry you at Gesu.
If you are already married civilly the church will need a copy of your license. we can make one at the parish office or you can get a new copy from the courthouse where your marriage is registered.
You must give your license to the Church no later than seven days before your wedding. We will make sure everything is correct on the license. The staff at Gesu will take care of getting the necessary signatures and sending the license back to the courthouse.
