More good news this week as Yola Noel has joined the parish staff as Communications Coordinator. She comes to us with a wealth of communication experience from the Milwaukee Urban League and UW Stevens-Point. We already have a long list of things for her to work on.
There was good energy around a full table as we welcomed Noel and Paul, our new Director of Liturgy, at our monthly staff lunch on Wednesday. It feels like we’re doing some stuff.
With the Feast of the Presentation of the Lord behind us, we’re looking ahead to Lent. During the second week of Lent, we’ll celebrate the Novena of Grace in honor of St. Francis Xavier. The Novena of Grace is a traditional devotion in many Jesuit institutions celebrated from March 4-12, the days leading up to the anniversary of the canonization of Ignatius and Xavier on March 12. Fr. Michael Simone, S.J. has kindly agreed to preach the Novena for us this year.
Fr. Michael is currently associate pastor at Old St. Patrick’s in Chicago. Readers of America Magazine will recognize him from his work writing the weekly scripture reflections from 2017-2019. Be on the lookout for more details as we get closer.
There will be more news to come as our new staff members get down to work. Please stay tuned (and stay warm).
