Margi does weekend and seasonal liturgy planning, trains and schedules liturgical ministers, coordinates wedding and funeral liturgies, and is a member of the Worship Commission.
Margi is a long-time member of Gesu. She brings with her an understanding of--and appreciation for--the rich history and tradition of Gesu and its many ministries; years of immersion in Ignatian Spirituality and the Spiritual Exercises.
Gesu has been my spiritual home since I first came to Milwaukee as a Marquette student – and that’s quite a few years ago. I fell in love with the people I met at daily Mass and Sunday liturgies. They were people of such deep faith and they were so willing to share their faith stories with a young college student. I immediately felt at home. I had only been “hanging around” Gesu for a few months when a gentleman came up to me and said, “You should join this church, because it’s a praying church.” And he was right. The strength of Gesu comes from the constant prayers of the people.
As the Director of Liturgy I have the privilege of helping the people of Gesu pray together as a community. In many ways my “job” is so easy because people are eager to pray together. In other ways my ministry is challenging and exciting because there are so many different ways people want to pray. So when the main focus of your day is to pray or help others pray, it’s not really work at all.
