Associate Pastors

Gesu's Associate Pastors have considerable pastoral and sacramental responsibilities. They preside at daily and weekend liturgies and have specific scheduled times for the Sacrament of Reconciliation each week. They are available by appointment for spiritual and pastoral counsel. In addition to availability for baptisms and weddings, they handle emergency hospital calls.

Parish Administration

The administrative staff implement parish policies as determined by the Parish Council. They serve as resources to committees, manage the daily operations of the parish, assist in the development of the parish mission, manage financial, personnel and material resources, and facilitate the growth and development of parishioners.

Pastoral and Finance Councils

In accordance with Canon Law, and direction of the Archdiocese of Milwaukee, Gesu Parish has in place two consultative bodies, called councils, to assist the Pastor in fulfilling the Parish mission. These councils (Pastoral and Finance) operate in a collaborative fashion to provide appropriate leadership, guidance, expertise and support from the parish community. The Pastoral and Finance Councils meet on a regular basis and typically no fewer than six times each year.

Pastoral Council

The Pastoral Council is a vehicle for the parish to fulfill the pastoral mission of Jesus and the Church in a specific part of the Wisconsin Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuits) and the Archdiocese of Milwaukee (Archdiocese). It does this by developing Catholic identity, promoting evangelization, and fostering stewardship. The Council shall strive to build a community of disciples who recognize their baptismal calls to lives of holiness, witness and service. It shall engage in a continuous process of pastoral planning, which takes into account the needs and priorities of its parishioners, the Jesuits, the Archdiocese, the broader community, and the world.

Finance Council

The Finance Council provides advice and guidance to the pastor in the administration of the parish and its assets. It prepares the parish budget, any budgets for extraordinary expenditures, and reviews financial statements. The Council monitors the financial condition of the parish, including regular financial reviews/audits as well as the internal financial controls by following the recommendations in the audit/review. The Council provides assistance in the formulation and communication of financial reports to the parish community. It is the consultative body in all parish financial matters, except to the extent limited by church or civil law or Archdiocesan policy/norms.
