Barbara works with the Christian Formation Committee and the Child and Family Sub-Committee along with other parish staff to pass on our Catholic faith as Christ instructs us. The Christian Formation program for students in K3/K4 through 8th grade runs from September through April. Sacrament preparation for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation is Barbara’s favorite part of her ministry.
Barbara has a degree from UW-Milwaukee and participated in a Lay Formation Program through the La Crosse Diocese. She received her commissioning from our very own Archbishop Listecki in 2007. She lives in Germantown with her husband Scott, their two daughters Katherine and Danielle, and their dog Lucy.
Many people may hear Gesu and think of a beautiful church with amazing stain glass windows and a lot of history. What I like about Gesu is that it is so much more than a building. Gesu is the people – the Jesuit priests, the parish staff, the parishioners and the neighboring community. Gesu is blessed with a diversity of people from the Marquette students and faculty, to those in downtown Milwaukee, and to those from neighboring communities. What really comes across is that everyone wants to be here and takes to heart their Catholic faith and the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ. I feel blessed to be part of all that goes on here at Gesu.
