Mike works with High School Religious Education, Adult Formation, and Marriage Ministry; and schedules Weddings. He is on the Formation Commission and helps with the Small Group aspect of the Parish Life Commission.
I really don’t feel like this is work for me, this is ministry and I feel extremely blessed to minister in three wonderfully diverse areas of parish life. As the Director of Youth Formation, I am privileged to serve in faith formation with fellow adult catechists as we prepare the teens of Gesu to receive the sacrament of Confirmation. But more than that to assist the teens as they discern the impact that our Catholic faith has in their lives, and as people of faith how they have been blessed with the opportunity to assist in bringing to fruition the Kingdom of God. As Director of Adult Formation, I walk the faith journey with members of parish community in developing a deeper appreciation of Ignatian Spirituality, Scripture study, and other components of our identity as Catholic Christians as we are called to live out the Gospel message in our lives. Finally, as Marriage Preparation Coordinator, I assist approximately 60 couples each year as they prepare to celebrate their weddings at Gesu or churches across the country or other parts of the world! On more than one occasion, I have stated that serving at Gesu is like being a kid in a candy store. There are so many good things from which to choose. I felt that way at the very beginning of my employment here. The same feeling resonates within me to this day!
